The first time I saw Steve Reeves as Hercules, I was very young. But even at that age I remember being wide-eyed and slack-jawed at the sight of this incredibly handsome man. As if that wasn't enough, there was that awesome body and the fact that it was being featured as a paragon of masculinity on which you were supposed to feast your eyes. So imagine my disbelief when, at the end of the movie, they have him in chains, sweating and struggling to bring down the portico on his enemies. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.
And so it's no wonder that Steve became an inspiratioin to David's final look. And so it's a pleasure to return the favor and feature David as Steve Reeves' Hercules.
