"Yeah, I agree," said David. "Calves can be stubborn. I have to hit mine from all kinds of angles. Helps to have strong ankle joints too."
Brad nodded as he helped David straighten out the gym. "I like to take a long run in the sand once in a while."
"Know what I like to do once in a while? Just do one looong rep."
"Just one rep?" Brad asked.
"Yeah. What I do is brace myself against something and go up on my toes and hold it as long as I can. After a while I can even feel it in the front of my shins, in the tibialis anteriors."
"Yeah?" Brad scoffed. "Until you get distracted."
"Oh I can stay pretty focused. Like a laser."
"I betcha I could do something to distract you."
"You think so?" David asked with a smile. "I bet you couldn't."
"I bet I could. I dare you."
David smiled. "Aw no. I don't bet when I'm sure to win. It's not fair to the other guy." He flashed a teasing, brilliant smile at Brad.
"Oh! I'll bet you...lemme see..."
"I'm not gonna shave your initials in my chest like you wanted last time."
"Nahh. I already told everybody you did that. It's lost its charm."
"You what?!"
Brad rubbed his chin. "Let's see....
"No handcuffs."
"Shoot."
"No pudding."
"Okay. Okay."
"No tickling. Besides...I'm not ticklish."
"The hell you're not," Brad sneered.
"Hey!" said David. "I got an idea. A steak dinner at BOA's! Loser buys both."
Brad's eyes went wide. "Hmmmm."
"Only thing that's off limits is the wagyu beef."
"Steak dinner, huh?"
"Yeah."
"Okay. Steak dinner, three appetizers, four drinks and four sides."
"Hmm...steak dinner, two appetizers, two drinks, and three sides."
"And dessert."
"Okay. Hey! They've got tiramisu there. You can finally try some."
"Naaah. I don't like Japanese food."
"But--"
"Alright. Lock the door and take your clothes off, my man. Mmm, mmm, mmm! Lookin' forward to having myself some grade A BEEF!"
"It's one of my favorite restaurants."
